St Columba’s
St Columba’s is a city parish, and the district has been built up for more than a century. The foundation stone was laid on Easter Tuesday 23rd April 1889 which preceded the opening of the church on Sunday 17th November of that year. The Dedication of the church was on Friday 17th November 1989
Over 4,000 people were baptised in St Columba’s over the past 100 years. St Columba’s is the mother parish of many parishes in the south and east of Edinburgh. For this fact alone it can be classified as an historic church Internally, the church building is rather attractive and is well attended by parishioners from the southside of Edinburgh
